Google Search Console setup
Google Search Console setup for medical practices
Google Search Console is Google's free tool for site owners. It shows which searches lead to your site, which pages are indexed and what is broken. We verify your whole domain, submit your sitemap, review indexing and set up access and alerts, so your practice owns a clear view of how Google sees it.
Why Search Console comes first
Search Console is Google's own record of how your site performs in Google Search: the queries that showed your pages, how often people clicked, and which pages Google could or could not index. Every SEO or AI visibility decision is a guess without it. It is free, and it should belong to your practice, not to an agency.
What setup includes
Domain property verification
A Domain property covers every version of your site (http and https, www and non-www, subdomains). It is verified with a DNS TXT record at your registrar, which we add only with your approval.
Sitemap submission
We find or fix your sitemap, submit it and confirm Google can read it.
Indexing review
We read the Page indexing report and separate normal exclusions from real problems: important pages blocked by noindex, wrong canonicals, broken links, redirect chains or soft 404s.
Core Web Vitals and HTTPS
We check the experience reports for slow or unstable pages and certificate problems, and note what needs a developer.
AI features setting and report
We confirm the property's Search generative AI setting matches your choice (sites are included in AI Overviews and AI Mode by default) and show you the Generative AI performance report, which counts impressions in those features.
Users, permissions and alerts
Your practice stays the owner. Staff and vendors get their own named access at the lowest level that works, former vendors are removed, and email alerts go to someone who reads them.
Bing Webmaster Tools
We mirror the setup in Bing Webmaster Tools, which can import a verified site directly from Search Console, so Microsoft's search sees the same sitemap.
What you have at the end
- A verified Domain property owned by your practice's Google account.
- A sitemap that Google has processed.
- A short written indexing review with fixes in priority order.
- A clean list of who has access, and why.
- A dated baseline: clicks, impressions, top queries and indexed pages, so future changes can be measured against it.
What we need from you
- Someone who can add a DNS record at your domain registrar, or temporary user access to do it with your approval.
- A Google account owned by the practice, not the personal account of an employee who might leave.
- A list of every domain and subdomain you use, including old ones and booking pages.
Questions
Is Google Search Console free?
Yes. Search Console is a free Google tool. Our service is the setup, the review and making sure your practice owns it.
Is Search Console the same as Google Analytics?
No. Search Console shows what happens in Google Search before someone clicks: queries, impressions, clicks and index health. Analytics shows what people do on your site after they arrive.
Will setting up Search Console improve our rankings?
Not by itself. It is measurement. It shows what to fix, and fixing those things is what can help. See SEO.
Who should own the Search Console property?
Your practice. Agencies and staff should be added as users with their own Google accounts, so access can be removed without losing the property.
