How AI features find practices

Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode draw on Google's search index. Google says there is no special markup or file to add: to be shown as a supporting link, a page has to be indexed and eligible to appear with a snippet, and the site must not be opted out of AI features in Search Console. The usual SEO basics apply. Other assistants, such as ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot and Claude, retrieve web pages through their own search systems and crawlers.

Whichever system answers, it can only repeat what it can find and verify. When your website, Business Profile and directory listings disagree about services, locations or credentials, answers tend to come out vague or wrong.

What we do

  1. Step 1

    One approved fact sheet

Your name, services, locations or service areas, hours, credentials and policies, agreed once and used everywhere: site, Business Profile and directories.

  2. Step 2

Structured data that matches the page

Organization, service, FAQ and article markup that describes only what visitors can see. Markup that contradicts the page helps nobody.

  3. Step 3

    Answer-ready pages

Each page answers its main question in the first lines, uses the words patients use, and cites sources where facts or rules are involved.

  4. Step 4

    A crawler policy you choose

We explain which crawlers fetch pages for AI search answers and which collect data for model training, and set your robots.txt to match your decision.

  5. Step 5

    A dated baseline and tracking

A fixed set of real patient and buyer questions, checked on a modest schedule. For each answer we record the engine, mode, date, location, the full answer, cited sources, and whether your practice was mentioned, recommended and described accurately.

We never combine these into a single 'GEO score', and we don't screenshot the best answer and call it a trend.

Questions

Is GEO different from SEO?

It is built on the same foundations: crawlable pages, accurate content and a trustworthy reputation. The differences are in measurement and in how much consistent facts matter.

Do we need an llms.txt file?

No. Google says Google Search ignores llms.txt files. Some other AI tools may read one, so we treat it as a small optional extra, never as a ranking lever.

Can you guarantee ChatGPT or Google will recommend us?

No. Nobody controls those answers. We can make your facts consistent and your pages clear, and show you exactly what the answers say over time.
